I was brought up in and with the real trains in
Germany and I am a model railway enthusiast since the age of 6.
After setting up huge (and never finished) layouts of various aeras
I have limited myself now to aera III (1956 to 1968) and to the
reproduction of a bavarian branch line near Nuernberg on a modular FREMO-layout,
scale 1/87 (4mm to an inch). As John
Oxlade had the best pages on
this subject and on german
railways at all, I have not bothered copying him.
Due to the lack of time to spent with this hobby, I can only
manage to do a little improvement work on the rolling stock or
sometimes even scratchbuild a small model.
If you need assitance in purchasing german, japanese or american
prototype models or spare parts, I can be of some help as my local
retailer MENZELS'S LOKSCHUPPEN & TOEFF-TOEFF (Tel.: +49 (211)
373328) is a well recommended shop and has almost every available
model (trains&cars) of any scale and brand and a good selection
of second hand and rare antiques on stock. (Herr Menzel still does
not pay me a penny for this advert. I think he has relatives in
Scotland!) If you want to search through a catalogue of all
available items, have a look into Mr.
Puerner's online shop.
Now the slide-scanner has appeared - look at my
models.
